Sonoma County is six times the size of Napa and far more stylistically diverse. Cool coastal sub-AVAs (Russian River, Sonoma Coast) make world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay; warmer inland zones (Dry Creek, Alexander Valley) make bold Zinfandel and Cabernet — usually for a fraction of Napa pricing.
